A Message from the President

Welcome to the Merritt Island Rotary Club where Service Above Self is the creed by which all our members live. My name is Peggy Russell and I am honored and privileged to be the president of this club for the 2019-2020 year.

Rotary International is a non-political and non-sectarian service organization that is 1.2 million members strong with the goal of advancing good will and peace throughout the world through service. Rotarians are involved with providing clean water, literacy programs, and the eradication of Polio throughout the world just to name a few projects.

The Merritt Island Rotary club has been a proud and active force in the community for over 60 years. We are part of an international project to provide clean drinking water to a village in Mexico and are doing our part in support of the eradication of Polio project. We are also very busy and active in our community. Ask an elementary school student who Josh the Otter is and be prepared for a very excited and long answer! We provide dictionaries to the schools, and support the local Children’s Hunger Project. We participate in road and beach cleanup projects. Our fundraising projects such as our Christmas greenery sales and yearly gala provides support to many charities throughout Merritt Island and Brevard County.
